1. It's an executive order. It's >not< the law. It >can't< be a law unless/until both chambers of Congress passes it as one.
2. The former USSR was already a fully established autocracy, and most citizens were terrified. We're not at that stage - at least not yet.
3. T4 passed with public indifference. We're not seeing that level of indifference today. There is a lot of indifference for sure, but a lot less than Germany in the '30's and '40's.
It's a great reminder of the imperative that we continue to Rise! Resist! ✊✊✊
The next nationwide No Kings rally is Saturday, March 28. Be there or be square!
And yet, anyone that speaks 'ill' of Trump is jumped on - I wrote a wee bit about how this was about control. The government (for sure in BC, which I recognize is not this situation but very relevant) - gives away free drugs and there is zero housing that is affordable, then scoops them up and treats them like criminals. Shameful and I saw this coming a long time ago...when I made the comment, people responded by telling me to take my meds.
My response? People always vilify those who try to warn others, so I am not offended by their rude comments, I just see them as simple lemmings who walk off a cliff because they are told so...no questions asked.
❓WHY TF do incompetent Doctors with zero DIAGNOSTIC Qualifications now demand "ROUTINE" drug testing on patients who have no history or evidence of drug abuse❓ ‼️RESIST‼️
I suppose anyone carrying a sign disagreeing with Trumpism could be called disturbed and institutionalized, under Trump's order. Under ordinary circumstances this sort of thing would get laughed off the stage.
But with Democrats having become a nonentity and the slim Republican majority subject to bootlicking groupthink, this could happen. Congressional Republicans, who should really call themselves Trumpists - they're not any sort of Republican we've seen so far - entirely represent the Reichstag of 1936 in their deaf, dumb, and blind obeisance to their master.
Some sort of virus has gotten hold of what used to be Republicans, they've become lickspittles and cowards in Congress, slavering to serve their evil master. They think he's still popular but for most of his supporters he'll soon be looking like shit if he isn't already.
All of this has to be a form of mass hysteria. It's too unreal, but it is what it is. Hysteria, perhaps, the kind of hysteria where you think your left foot has disappeared; not running around hysterical. But it's close.
This is terrifying to read. It starts with a $250 fine, which no homeless person can afford to pay. Disappearing more and more people while pretending it is for the general good.
I just realized a horrifying thing that I did not the first time I read the EO (probably, in part, because I finally figured out the “why” behind ICE’s ability to not offer the same rights as people get in criminal trials - it isn’t just because they are immigrants. Holy heck. It is because it is civil enforcement, NOT criminal, so ICE officials are not required to inform a detainee of their rights before interrogation. The state is not required to provide an attorney if you cannot afford one. It isn’t criminal, so your rights are less protected.
Civil commitment means fewer rights to fight it. It means not having an actual trial.
I don’t know if you know this, but for all its efficiency, the Nazi regime not only didn’t send the right ashes, they often sent more than one set and more than one death notice to families of those killed in the program. That, and conflicting manners of death sometimes in the duplicates were part of why there was so much outcry. Someone dying of pneumonia in an institution would have felt tragic, but it became suspicious and people started comparing notes when errors like that were made. When the Bishop of Münster condemned the killings and demanded an end to the practice from the pulpit, the Nazis debated disappearing him, but decided it was too early in their rule to have people complaining about them killing clergy.
It really is horrible what trump is doing to America. He's turned everything upside down. I hope he's removed soon. He can't continue this way or USA will become a Third World Country.

Men have always locked up their wives in institutions when the wives bothered them.

The test was covid - governments won BIG TIME.

Our country is becoming more like Nazi Germany in the 1938-1945.
Make poor farms great again for the land owners. Free labor corporations!
🤬most likely no evidence or doctor statement will be needed. If the proud boy, aka ICE feels like arresting someone, they will.
An executive order IS NOT LAW. Ignore it

Heartbreaking
Chilling! And frightening. Thank you for exposing this.
