What the hell is the point of doing away with this excellent program?! It’s just mean. Keep taking away from the poorest among us and you won’t like the outcome

Yep. If you don’t feed the hungry, they will eat you. The competition amongst the billionaire class has led us to this point. They create fear of “the other” to convince the middle class to give up their rights! Critical thinking skills must be taught in schools!

This is abject cruelty for cruelty’s sake. How many more instances like this does one need to come to the conclusion that these people are monsters?? These are children and young adults on the verge of becoming productive members of society who are being thrown out on the streets to inflate the already morbidly obese ego of a man who is just mean. He could not give one damn about any of them. To all the moronic people who voted for this toddler, this is on YOU!

I was a job corps teacher for 20 years. Serving these students will always be my proudest moment.

This is horrible. They couldn't even let these kids finish their courses?

What, we don't need welders and CNAs?

Cut ‘em off at the knees, then kick ‘em while they’re down.

Typical.

I hope some entity, with good intent, is compiling a database of all Job Corps students so they can be returned to the program asap.

I love our Job Corps in Vermont. This is despicable!

This creates the conditions for an increase in crime—not because these kids are criminals, but because some will become desperate enough. That will in turn justify an increase in funding for police and (private, for profit) prisons.

Thank You again! Stuff like this will never be on msm! The cruelty is the point! I was helping out with a program like this last summer taking the young people out in kayaks on the CT river. Idk if it was a Job Corp funded program but sounds very similar.

The administration wants to erase the poor. If we as a society do not put a stop to this, we will be dealing with state sanctioned murder. If you take away a humans health care they may die unnecessarily. If you take away a humans food sorce they will become malnourished and may die. If you take a humans housing away their life may be shortened or they may die of violence or exposure. If you take away human hope that person may die from despair. The young people in Job Corp are our future.

I know the research on the Job Corps, for many decades now. It is a highly effective program that can turn high school dropouts into solid, gainfully employed, successful taxpayers. Well worth the cost, if we just want to look at the crass economics of it aside from the humanity of it, as well. It is a crime ignorantly to cut such an effective and life-building program. Leave it to the current ignoramuses in the administration to destroy yet another American blessing: a blessing for the people involved as well as for our country’s success! We must stop the wholesale destruction of our country, which is what is happening under the current government. And not only that, but they are cruelly celebrating the evil as they destroy left, right, and center.

That’s absolutely horrendous. They’re very few outlets for displaced low income or other traumatic households to get training to make a better life for themselves frankly, I am enraged that this happened.
