My wife and I have been rewatching MASH for the upteenth time, but this time I've been struck by how prevalent the same dumbass statements Frank Burns and Col Flagg (and a few others ) made in a 70's era TV show about a 50's era war are *still* being made _today_ and with a straight face and serious tone.
Utterly mind-boggling... But, yeah, that's absolutely where we're at... The same Red Scare, McCarthy bullshit from the 50's.
